Blue Marlin Restaurant in Fairhope

Went there on Mother’s Day. Nearly froze because the a/c was set so low! Asked three times for them to adjust without results. Most people entering had to put on sweaters. While it was impossible to enjoy any meal when you are extremely cold, I ordered the steak medium rare and it came well done. After waiting over forty-five minutes to get our food, I was too hungry to send it back. The steak was large and very thin (hence, over cooked) and a third fat. Will not be returning.

Mom and pop restaurant, that what they act like and that's what the food taste like. Never been disappointment

Wow!!! We are locals and wouldn't go anywhere else for seafood. This restaurant has the best food. Even the salad dressing is homemade. You can't find any better food or service than Blue Marlin.

Vacationing from Tennessee and found this little gem of a restaurant. It is a small family restaurant with no frills but some of the best seafood and coleslaw we have ever ate! We definitely recommend eating here!

This was the worst seafood I've ever eaten. Everything was overcooked. We all got seafood platters stuffed crab. Stuffed oyster. Stuffed shrimp were all inedible. Stuffing was brown mush. Everything had a very tough batter? On it. I will never try to eat their food again. The waitress was efficient and pleasant and not her fault the food was not edible. We gave her a $20. Tip!!

Food was Good, Service very slow

A true hidden gem. Good service. Excellent fried seafood! Far better than any of the crowded and way overpriced tourist trap restaurants in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Worth the 30 min ride for true S. Alabama style seafood.

Called our order in due to my husband having a toothache. I ordered the 1/4 chicken the price online said it was $9.95 but i was charged $ 12.95 for a leg and thigh which had no seasoning employee stated chicken prices had gone up they stated that was a old price yet the menu in house didnt even have chicken listed. Ordered the fried green tomatoes whick where very salty and tasted like it was cooked in old oil. The customer service was great. But the tomato's were left off so i said to wait on them while the rest of my order got cold. But as i said the staff was very friendly.

We enjoyed our meals. Our group turned into almost double what they had prepared for, but they dealt with it extremely well and gracefully. Food was very good and we plan to visit again soon

Fried green tomatoes were great. My husband and I had the Mahi Mahi and flounder and it was fantastic!!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Family Restaurant with good food.

Food was very good!! I think they were understaffed in the kitchen so it took a long time to get our food. They continued to check on us during the wait and brought out a plate of green beans and fries for the kids. We would definitely go again if in the area.

Slow time when I ate. Friendly place with a great fish sandwich!

Would not recommend. Service was super slow, with only two tables seated when my family & I arrived... It literally took the lady 20 minutes to clean off a table. And the food was not good either, anything that was fried tasted like the grease it was fried in was super old. I personally would not eat there again js.

The food here is as good as any you will find. I am ok with their prices as well because the food is very good. They just don't have enough employees. The wait every single time is extremely too long. That keeps me from going back very often.

Had a Marlin Burger....very good, a side salad and Bread Pudding with Carmel sauce for dessert. Everything was fresh and tasty, above average sized portions and a GREAT price! Service was quick and courteous!

A great place for local seafood. A little pricey but worth it if you love good seafood. Great down home feeling and very friendly staff. A little slow but that is because the food is cooked when ordered instead of sitting under a heat lamp or microwaved. Worth the trip.

This place has been a family favorite ever since they opened. They have great food! Great staff!!! And, recently opened late just for our family, after a huge loss in our family, which was also, a huge fan of the of the Blue Marlin!!!!

I really wanted to like this place because it is so close to our house. However, I cannot recommend this place at all. Tonight was the second time for us to give this place a shot and we waited over an hour and a half for our food. The waitress had recommended the seafood potato and unfortunately that is what I ordered. My food was the first to arrive to the table and the potato was pretty much a bowl of mashed potatoes with a piece of melted cheese on top (think Kraft single sliced cheese). You couldn’t see any shrimp or crab meat in the potato and could barely taste a hint of seafood. I gave this place 2 stars because my husband’s shrimp was good. ***All in all: food is mediocre and be prepared to wait a really long time for food to come out.

service was great but not to impressed with the food we ordered. Cole slaw was the best I've ever had. we will go back and give it another try.

Fried pickles were good, homemade ranch dressing and salad were good, but fried shrimp was horrible and baked potato was partially uncooked. Have been here two times on vacation and don't think I'll return. Seems to be a place favored by eccentric elderly locals. Employees were friendly, I'll give them that.

Really nice place! The atmosphere, staff ,and home like feel was very inviting. We had the chicken sandwich and bacon cheeseburger with fries. Very delicious, hot, and quick. Sweet tea was good. Overall a very good place to eat. Worth future visits!

Some of the beat salmon we’ve had in years! The bread pudding was great as well. Good atmosphere, good service, relaxing and welcoming.
